There is an almighty God who created us, the universe and everything in it. He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. He is Spirit without any material form. He has revealed himself in many ways in our world and in nature, but specifically through the person of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the sixty-six books of the Bible.
We believe that the Holy Spirit moved and superintended the biblical authors as they penned the books of Scripture. The result is a book that is both divine and human in origin and a revelation from God. It is truthful in everything it affirms. Scripture alone is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice among believers and non-believers.
We affirm that there is only one God. But He is manifest in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) who share the divine essence co-equally. Two thousand years ago, God the Father sent Jesus, God the Son, the second member of the trinity, to redeem humankind from sin.
Jesus lived among humankind 2000 years ago, was crucified, rose again, and ascended into heaven where he dwells with the Father. The Bible declares that all people have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Christ being sinlessly perfect, as our substitute, paid the price for the sins of everyone who ever lived. Now people can have their sins forgiven and can establish a personal relationship with God, if they choose by faith to accept Christ’s payment for their sins.
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and righteousness and judgment. He does so by moving people’s hearts to accept Christ as their personal Saviour from sin. When they do turn to Christ as their Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit regenerates them and gives them a new nature (one positively disposed to obey God), and indwells them. As they yield their will to obey Christ, they grow in their faith as the Holy Spirit sanctifies them.
All who have placed their faith in Christ as Lord and Saviour are baptized into his body, the Church. We believe that Lord Jesus Christ will soon return visibly and physically to earth. There will be one final judgment and then God will institute the eternal state. His people will reign with Him eternally while those who rejected Him will be condemned forever.
